CATALUŅA

Due to unexpected family commitments we regret that our much anticipated (by us!) summer program in the eastern Catalan Pyrenees has had to be postponed until 2008.

Also available will be a couple of "cycling for softies" routes including a Via Verde (resurfaced disused railway track) from Olot down to Girona and a Downhill BikeGlide from the ski area of Vallter 2000 down to the village of Camprodon

The main attraction of this part of Cataluņa - and the principal activity of our "softivity" breaks - will be the great walking in the surrounding area. Day-walks are on a combination of long distance footpaths (GR), local trails (PR), forestry tracks and  out of season snowshoe trails which are beautiful for walking  once the snow has gone - usually by April. The variety of walks is impressive and because of Camprodon's position, there are many easier meadow rambles as well as more challenging hikes. We can lead full or half-day walks as well as easier rambles and will be offering a range to suit different abilities and interests.

4 days of "softivities" can be any combination of walking and/or "cycling for softies". Other possibilities available in the area are fly-fishing, horse riding, golf on a delightful 9-hole course...etc.

Our 2008 softivity breaks  will be Sundays to Fridays (5 nights). They will include pickup and return to Gerona, Barcelona or Perpignan airports - choice of 2-star or 3-star hotels with half-board or B&B & 4 days of "softivities".

We (Vanessa and/or Neil)  accompany all walks and bike rides and as many other activities as possible.
